I'M THREE!

I am THREE and this is me...
I love cereal, ice cream, lasagne, trucks, dinosaurs, bugs, spidah-mennn, Diego, Toy Story, singing my alphabet, reading books with mom and dad, teasing Anna, making Kate giggle, my grandparents, playing I spy, swimming, wrestling, running, jumping, getting dirty, talking (but not being understood) and smiling.

This is what mom has to say about me...

David was born April 29th - 8'2 but three weeks early! He hit 20 POUNDS between 3-4 months and he has topped the charts ever since then. We love this guy-we call him Buddy a lot because that's what he is. He is so sweet and kind to everyone (okay sometimes his sisters are the exception). He is really the apple of his Daddy's eye and Jay is ready to show him the ropes in everything! He's had to establish in his mind (and he'll say) "No boys, only girls" policy when it comes to dressing up and dolls considering the wide variety available to him. I have to expand on his interest for "old" people (maybe trips Wal-Mart in snowbird season has made him this way). He just doesn't say hi- he has to do a pat on the back, knee or arm. He loves to say hi to everyone, but has definitely and obviously always payed close attention to the gray-haired people:) . For example, in church there is a nice lady (late 80's) that, for a while, he loved to go and talk to. He would look at her aged arms and hands and kind of feel them, I think he was just so curious. The funniest was the produce man at the store a while back. David almost ran into him from behind and stuck his hand on this guy's backside and brushed it around his side as he came around to face him and give him a huge smile and wave. The old guy jumped, but then realized it was just David. What a funny kid. I'm sure he'll learn his boundries and grow out of it soon I guess. Anyways just some insight into David now that he's three! We love this awesome little boy!

Jay wanted to get him some gear for bug/creature catching at Father's and Son's this weekend - a bug vacuum, 2 cages, a net, tweezers, flashlight, camo hat sunglasses...and other things.

The winner today goes to his new "reh-tew pack" (Rescue Pack), so excited!

We had a cousin sleepover last night and had a blast! It all started yesterday when I watched my sister Britney's kids while she had an early morning Dr. appointment for her baby. Then we headed to the mall and spent way too much time there. David got his 3 year pictures taken and we spent our time walking the mall, letting the kids see the puppies and playing in the play area. Just your typical boring same old Superstition Springs Mall blah blah. We came back to my house and brit left for her date to the temple. I was so proud of myself (with some help from Jay) I had all the kids asleep by 8 in time to see the Office, hilarious last night by the way. We had fun being with the cousins!

I think the Office just gets funnier and funnier. We love our Thursday nights because we just crack up for a full 1/2 hour, and then we watch that same one at least every night before the next episode. We're hooked. And now I am craving a frosty -my favorite. So last weekend was a crazy one - my brother Thayne and his wife Lanae came and visited from Utah with their 4 little boys. We made the trek to Surprise and stayed the night with my brother Bryan's family so we could be at the two get togethers at my other brother, Jordan's house (in Buckeye) on Sat and Sun. My Dad and Mom now have 21 grandchildren (and 2 on the way) between the seven of us and i'm sure even more to come. The get togethers are already chaos and madness but the cousins all get along awesome and have so much fun together. There are 11 boys and 10 girls ages 4 months to 12 years. The year David was born was a baby boom - six babies in 9 months! I have 3 brothers on the west west side, 1 brother in Utah, 1 bro in South Carolina, and a sister in Mesa. As for Jay's side, his 2 brothers and 1 sister all live in Mesa/Gilbert. There are 12 grandkids-6 boys and 6 girls ages 5 days to 12 yrs. I am so grateful my kids have all these fun cousins and that they can all live pretty close. It's always a party!

Thayne came and stayed a couple days at my house. Anna and David had a blast with all these boys and they loved the attention!

One of the nights we had a yummy bbq, a campfire and smores. The kids loved it!

We also swam in our lovely swimming pool. And there's David-always fearless.

Sorry about the disgusting picture, but this is the rattlesnake Jay so bravely beheaded in our FRONT YARD on Tuesday evening. AAAH! Seriously it makes me freak, I haven't let the kids outside all week. We found the last one coiled up against our front door last September, and wow I think we have been watched over. Good thing we'll be moving eventually, if we could find a buyer (i think the whole rattlesnake thing wouldn't help). And now I get to see this nasty picture everytime I come to my blog. Anyways I'm so excited our camera works, we got a new charger and I can take pictures again. Here are some cute ones I've been wanting to post.

Kate is so determined in everything she does! She never stops moving and she always has somewhere to go.

I found David asleep one day ON our back door, so funny. It was a day that Jay was working back in the shop and so he just watched and waited for his best buddy... Kate at Grandma's...Love these two cuties...

date night

For our date on Friday, Jay and I went down to that new Tempe Marketplace, but I was bummed because I have no working camera right now. It was so nice to get out and go somewhere different, and we had a fun time! It was more of a college atmosphere, but I think that's what made it exciting...all the drunks, noise, and bands/music playing. I love the outdoor feel, the weather was so nice! They had fountains and even a lounging area with a fireplace. We ate at Cadillac Ranch (a huge restaurant overlooking everything) and it was so yummy--that's because anything that I don't have to cook or clean up is absolutely downright awesome to me... maybe next time we'll try out their mechanical bull, but I think you're supposed be completely drunk to enjoy that ride. Then we took some ice cream to our friends house in Phoenix and just hung out the rest of the night. I love date nights!

General Conference

I looked forward to this morning's session all week and it was a memorable one for me. It was fun to explain to my kids the purpose of sustaining our new prophet, Thomas S. Monson. When it was my turn to sustain him, I felt the spirit so strong, especially since the kids were watching me in anticipation of their turn. They were so excited and proud when they were able to raise their hands and I felt like their testimony (and my testimony) grew because of it. I'm thankful for our new prophet!
