Snow Day in Flagstaff
We went to Flagstaff with a couple friends and their families this past weekend...it was our kid's first time ever in the snow and they loved it! They lasted a lot longer than I thought they would in the snow, especially Anna & David...they could have gone all day sledding and romping around. I was surprised how brave they were (even Kate) and how many times they took off flying down the hills every which way. Always ready for an adventure! We drove up Friday, stayed the night in a hotel and then went out sledding twice the next day. Thankfully, the Hartman family had their parents who live up there, so we took a couple pit stops to eat and rest in between at their house. Despite all the back-breaking work of packing, bundling up (holy cow!), and getting wet and muddy - we are definitely planning on another day in the snow next year!
[I love this picture of Anna sledding down the hill like a pro...she was in heaven the whole time and couldn't get enough. She was extremely sad to leave.]
[Even Blake took a couple rides down the hill with Jay & I.]
[building a snowman...look how deep that snow was...]
[After a while, these two decided they would rather hang out in the heated car, eat powdered donuts and watch Ice Age 3. Seriously I think Blake ate at least a dozen of these donuts...I kept giving them to him and he kept stuffing them in. AND when I took him out of his seat, I barely found any remnants of powdered donuts anywhere! He ate every last crumb. That's my boy.]
[Hanging out at the Hartman's....love Blake's face in these pictures!]
[Later in the day we went to a local elementary school and did a lot more sledding.]
[snowball fight!]
[Just one of many piles of dirty stuff we brought in when we got back...]
[...but to see smiles like this on our kid's faces made EVERYTHING worth it...]
