My favorite blanket

I caught Blake sound asleep and spooning his favorite blanket the other night. I love how cuddly this kid is!

First grade here she comes!

Anna started first grade last week and is loving it so far. (my camera would not work so I only have a first day picture on my phone). The first day she came home so hot and exhausted...but excited! She can't wait for homework to start (I'm sure that'll wear off real quick) and is excited to meet new friends. She's growing up too fast for me to keep up!

What six months looks like

At his checkup he was 21 1/2 pounds and off the charts for both his height and weight. He has been such a joy to have around. He is an amazing cuddler and even though he is so big, we still can't get enough of him!
Oh and he got his first battle wound - a little black eye. He was sitting up and decided to fly forward on his tummy and wacked his eye right onto Kate's knee. She cried even though she didn't do anything. Just the first of many bumps and bruises! (you can also kind of see it in the pictures above)

Dad's birthday

We had fun celebrating Dad's bday! We sent him on a wild "present hunt" with clues leading him to the hiding spots we picked out: an underwear drawer, the bath, the car, a cereal box, under our pool, on top of the playhouse and under his pillow! Under his pillow we hid the cards we made especially for him. Dad took us to eat at Red Robin and then we ate ice cream cones at home. Dad even bought US a few little presents to open on his birthday. On Saturday, he took Anna and Kate on a 'daddy daughters date' to get their haircuts, some ice cream and a stroll around Target. We love our Dad and how much fun we have when he's around.

Happy birthday!

Jay can make me laugh without even trying, finds the very best parking spots every single time with no effort, puts a smile on the kids faces, is willing to help anybody, can still rap to all the words to Ice Ice Baby, and continues to amaze me with his many talents--even after 9 years of marriage. I'm so proud of him for working harder when the times got tougher with his business. It's been a long, hard, winding road to getting his own shop to fabricate stainless parts. A few things I know have helped him: 1. He gets the job done quickly but right and he always does what he says he's going to do. 2. His honesty 3. He has a great ability to teach himself new things. If he doesn't know how to do something, he doesn't stop until he figures it out. 4. He is very resourceful. 5. He is really good at building and bulking up his business relationships. 5. His humbleness. Here I am bragging for him because he would never talk about the great things he has done. I know the people he deals with on a day to day basis really enjoy him--his fairness and his attitude. okay-enough....I wanted to share pictures I love of just a few of the recent jobs he's done.
