It's like pulling teeth

Watch this cute video of Jay pulling Anna's bottom tooth (3rd one so far).
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-9ud_3a52oU
She has been begging Jay to pull her teeth (3 wiggly ones right now) forever. Finally this one on the bottom was ready and she waited all day for her dad to come home. Jay is the tooth puller in the family (he has pulled quite a few teeth) and I even dug up an old picture of him on his mission in Mexico. I always loved this picture...and written on the back is this cute little girl's name--Ana.

Meet Dr. Seuss

So we decided to keep the frog that David found last week. Turns out he's kinda cute and fun to watch. And it turns out that Dr. Suess is only native to Oregon and Washington, so I'm pretty sure he has a cool story about how he hitched a ride down here and ended up in the flower department at Lowes. There was no arguing between the kids when they came up with his name, but there were a few moments of tears regarding his gender. Now that we have that all figured out, he's settled into his nice bachelor pad/cookie jar (never to be used for food after this), and has had a few yummy meals of fruit flies and mealworms. (shhh but I really hope I won't be writing his obituary in the next couple days--hopefully we'll keep him alive...)

Planning ahead

We had this conversation today while curling her hair for church:
Anna: Mom...I need some help.
Me: With what?
Anna: I can't decide what to do to Daddy on April Fool's Day. I don't know if I should get a pie...you should make it for me...and throw it on his face or get an apple and put it in his mouth while he's snoring at night. I really want to throw a pie on his face, that would be the best.
Me: How would you feel if somebody threw a pie on your face?
Anna: That would be so cool I would love it if somebody would throw a pie in my face!
She gets this pranking tendency from her Dad. Last April Fools (her idea) we poured salt in his koolaid at dinner. Just the other day (without me knowing) she hinted around to him to check under his pillow when he got home from work. She had left a cup of chocolate pudding (open) under his pillow. Maybe going a little far, so we had to have a talk about that one. Love her...she is always ready to have a laugh!

We have frequent visits from The Hulk

He never dreamed that his favorite shirt would become even better...

Concerning?

Found this nice little piece of photography on my camera--taken by David of course. Made me laugh and cringe at the same time. I CANNOT figure out what that metal tool thing Kate is holding but I'm glad to see that they like to document some of the things they've been up to around here. I tracked down this victim and found that she had a little ice breaker mint stuck in the back of her mouth...

All I want for Christmas

is my two front teeth. (Blake was only slightly tortured in the making of this photograph)

Late one night...

...I found these two like this. We just switched rooms around and now David & Kate are together. Trouble I tell ya. It's only been a couple nights so they are still giggling, chatting, and running over to each other's beds to tag the other (don't think that will get better anytime soon). I've found them like this twice now which explains why each of those nights they suddenly fell asleep so fast. So sweet. This is the best move we ever did because now David isn't scared and up at night because he's not in a room by himself. They think it's the greatest thing ever and Anna loves sharing a room with Blake..."FINALLY I'll get some sleep around here!"...were her exact words. I don't know...we'll see about that, Anna.

More October? But it's December!

I know...I know...I always miss some. Here are some pictures never posted (thanks Bryan for your great snapshots). The first half are obviously from Halloween and the last half are pictures from my brother, Kimball's graduation for his MASTERS! We had a fun day celebrating his accomplishments at the UofP Stadium then hanging out at Mommer and Papa's house...

Thanksgiving 2009 (a LOT of family pics this time)

Okay no surprises when our Christmas cards come around, I just couldn't wait to share these! All of these pictures were taken on Thanksgiving Day. Thanks to Bryan (my brother), Karin (his wife), and Tami (her amazing sister) for working your magic. I LOVE all these shots. So get ready to be bombarded with pictures. I couldn't leave any out....

[this taking picture business makes me wanna snack]

Thanksgiving 2009 (part two)

[exploring with the cousins in between family pics]

[This was the Turkey Trot at Anna's school--the kids had a blast running with their sister. It took alot of convincing on my part for Anna to let me bring Kate and David. She was worried they would break some rules so I promised her I would stay on top of it better than usual and permission was granted. I have many good memories with my Turkey Trot growing up...so it was fun to see Anna get all pumped up about it.]

[our annual Olson Thanksgiving Weekend Gingerbread (okay graham crackers) House Decorating. Lots of frosting, candy, sugar, cousins and some dang good lookin houses.]

[the cousins taking a break from all their hard work to watch a movie]

[Blake spent his time doing productive stuff, too]

[and my second most favorite day of the whole year--Christmas decorating! I love
watching the kids faces and how excited they are. It just gets funner every year with these guys.]

[a few meltdowns, butt cracks, fighting to keep Blake from pulling down the tree, and plenty of broken stuff from last year but we did it!]
